About
I am a facilitator, consultant, trainer and educator for mental health professionals, family members and people with lived experience. My services are intended for anyone looking for better thinking and stronger ideas around unusual states of mind and unshared realities than the usual concepts of "psychosis" or "mental illness."
The reason my services exist is because many people who work in, or have interactions with, the mental health system are left feeling deeply dissatisfied with current thinking, ideas and vocabulary. Many of these ideas, although mainstream and widely believed, are limited and outdated. They lead to a loss of lifespan, a sense of limited potential, stolen identities and broken relationships. I am interested in seeing things move in a new direction. My personal encounters with psychiatric hospitalization, experience hosting hundreds of HVN meetings and graduate training in Process Work give me insight into how to think about what is often called "mental illness" - but in a new way, one that does not assume illness at all. My ideas are popular with experiencers, supporters and professionals who are seeking something more empowering and useful. See my Videos to get a taste of my philosophy. I am the founder and director of Puget Sound Hearing Voices (est. 2015) and the Pacific Rim Hearing Voices Network (est. 2019). I have been hosting Hearing Voices groups for over five years. I am interested in promoting liberation and freedom and have been greatly influenced by the values of HVN in my personal journey. Note: I am not a licensed therapist nor a medical professional. I do not give medical advice nor do I offer clinical treatment. Instead, I am an idea factory - a mental health thinker who can help you learn to think differently. |
